(Cheyenne) – A 72-year-old Riverton man died Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a pickup on Wyoming Highway 28 about 42 miles south of Lander.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Keith J. Skinner was northbound riding a 1987 Goldwing when a southbound pickup driven by 22-year-old Kyle Despain of Big Piney crossed the centerline striking Skinner’s motorcycle head-on.
Despain told the Wyoming Highway Patrol he fell asleep while driving.
The accident is still under investigation.
When the investigation is complete, the information will be turned over to the Fremont County Attorney’s Office for review and to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
Skinner was travelling with another motorcyclist who was not involved in the crash.
