Each week, WyoPreps will pick a game of the week. A game that has significance in that division or to a school in particular.
This week, the game is a 2A Conference battle between #5 and Greybull. The Cougars have had their successes in the past couple of years with state appearances here and there. Greybull, however, hasn't had the same as they have been in the 3A division taking their lumps for a while.
Last week:
Both got the season started playing up a division.
Greybull pounded 3A Lyman in their season opener. The Buffs ran for 307 yards on the ground. Their defense held the Eagles to 74 yards and only six first downs. Clay Cundall ran for 121 yards and scored 3 times.
Wind River's defense came up big for first year coach Andy Ray. They ran back two picks for scores in a 20 to 14 win over 3A Pinedale. The second pick taken to the house was as time expired. Trent Jordan stepped in front of a Pinedale pass and ran it back 99 yards and was only at the 20 or so when time ran out. That broke a 14 to 14 tie. Pinedale had gotten inside the Cougar 10 yard line before the pick.
This week:
The Cougars hit the road to Greybull for a 7 pm kick off with the Buffs. For the Buffs, it's their second game at home while Wind River sees their first road game. The Cougars are still getting healthy and will have some kids back this week, but, won't be at 100%
