Week 1 saw some great performances on the football field.
Gillette's Logan Pokallus ran for 288 yards on the ground in the Camels' 26-13 win over Cheyenne Central. As a team, however, Glenrock racked up 356 yards on the ground in a 27 to 14 defeat of 4A Douglas.
Through the air, Newcastle tossed for 221 yards behind Jeremy Beehler. Nick Pisciottti was his favorite target as Nick went for 141 yards on 7 catches.
MJ Wagstaff helped Thermopolis out of their 19 game losing streak with 32 defensive points in the Bobcat's 6-0 overtime win over Big Piney. He had five tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick.
