LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Is the world ready for a cancer comedy? Seth Rogen and Mandate Pictures think so.

Mandate, one of the companies behind "Juno," has optioned "I'm With Cancer," a comedic autobiographical spec script that Rogen will produce. The "Knocked Up" star also will have a supporting role in the film.

"Cancer" is writer Will Reiser's autobiographical account of his struggle to beat cancer, with the story centering on a 25-year-old who finds out he has the disease. Reiser was a producer and field producer on HBO's "Da Ali G Show" and VH1's "Best Week Ever."

Also producing are Rogen's writing-producing partner, Evan Goldberg, and Reiser's colleague, Ben Karlin, an Emmy-winning veteran of "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report."
