CHEYENNE, WYOMING - Democratic U.S. House candidate Gary Trauner says Congress might soon have to "hold its nose" and pass a financial bailout bill.
Trauner says he hasn't read all of the bill that cleared the Senate on Wednesday and won't commit to supporting it. But in a news conference in Cheyenne on Thursday, he said "time is running short."
Republican U.S. House candidate Cynthia Lummis said Thursday that she opposes the bill that has passed the Senate, saying it's loaded with pork-barrel spending.
Lummis says she does like how the bill would increase the limit of federal insurance of private bank accounts from $100,000 to $250,000.
