Officials with the Wyoming Livestock Board say they've been busy as it is handling cases of brucellosis that have turned up in cattle this year.
Board members spoke to members of the Legislature's Joint Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Interim Committee in Green River on Tuesday.
The committee is considering legislation to create new positions within the Livestock Board. Those positions would include more veterinarians.
Assistant state veterinarian Jim Logan and others say Wyoming also needs to have a plan to respond to disease emergencies with livestock.
